The Bardstown Bourbon Company Announces the Appointment of Mark W. Erwin to Its Board of Directors
The Bardstown Bourbon Company (BBCo), the largest new distillery in America, announced today the appointment of Colonel (Ret.) Mark W. Erwin to its Board of Directors. Mr. Erwin is the President of Karakoram Group, an independent risk advisory firm, and previously served 25 years in the U.S. Army.

The typical distillery was once a utilitarian industrial plant; now it’s a boozy theme park. The recently opened Castle and Key Distillery outside Frankfort, Ky., which took over a defunct distillery site modeled after a medieval castle, sports a botanical trail and a manicured garden. The centerpiece of the new Bardstown Bourbon Company distillery is Bottle & Bond, a minimalist-chic restaurant run by the former chef at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. Upping the ante, SPI Group hired Shigeru Ban, a Pritzker Prize-winning architect, to design the main buildings at Kentucky Owl Park.
The Bardstown Bourbon Company Announces Grain & Barrel’s Participation In Its Collaborative Distilling Program
The Bardstown Bourbon Company announced today that Grain & Barrel Spirits, the maker of pre-prohibition favorite Chicken Cock Whiskey, has joined BBCo’s Collaborative Distilling Program. Grain & Barrel will work together with BBCo to produce custom bourbon and whiskey for the historic Chicken Cock brand, which dates back to 1856. BBCo and Grain & Barrel concluded their first distillation of 616 barrels at the end of August.

The Bardstown Bourbon Company earned the title of Grand Champion on Tuesday evening in Bardstown at the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Festival Mixed Drink Challenge. This winning concoction – dubbed the “Modern Prometheus” – will become the “Official Cocktail of the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Festival.” Until then, it will be exclusively available at Bottle & Bond Kitchen and Bar (located within The Bardstown Bourbon Company) for $12.
